Mainer Shannon Will Bike 75 Miles Just to Get to the Dempsey Challenge! [VIDEO/AUDIO]

Patrick Dempsey, movie star, tv star and Mainer is giving back - to Maine. He started 'The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing'. To fund this amazing organization he has also organized The Dempsey Challenge.

This year Shannon Thompson is taking the Dempsey Challenge to an even greater challenge. She will bike 75 miles to Lewiston to run the 10k on Saturday the 27th and then on Sunday cycle the 100 mile bike ride.

Shannon is an animal and will pick up her cycling buddy Tom Armitage on the way! He also will be taking the challenge to a new level. This is Tom's 3rd Dempsey Challenge. He has had to use the services of the center and this is his way of paying them back. Shannon is doing this in memory of lots of close people - but also for her friend Tom.
