South Portland Police Posting Drunk Drivers on Facebook! [POLL]

South Portland police have started posting pictures of people arrested for drunk driving before they go on trial. Some think that is going to far, others (including the SP Police Dept.) thinks it will discourage drunk driving.

Here's what they have under this photo on the South Portland Police Dept Facebook page:

On May 4th, 2015 at around 6:18pm, units responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of 500 Cottage Road.

As a result of the investigation, Jonathan Steinman, of Cape Elizabeth, was placed under arrest for OUI. He was transported to Cumberland County Jail and processed.

Mr. Steinman is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The SP Police Dept says their hope is that this will discourage others from driving drunk. Critics say it's not the departments job to shame, and this could affect a fair trail.
