Star Wars Day always brings us new ways to appreciate the galaxy far, far away. This year we got a gift from some clever editors at ‘The Tonight Show,’ who managed to string together clips from all eight Star Wars movies (‘Rogue One’ included) to re-create the first verse of Smash Mouth’s “All Star.” If that sounds like it shouldn’t work at all, we agree. But it does.

Terrible news to confirm today, as a beloved icon and Star Wars star’s condition has taken a turn for the worse. Carrie Fisher, actress behind both Princess and General Leia, has passed away at age 60. The revered actress and comedic presence had earlier suffered a heart attack en-route from London to Los Angeles.

In what may turn out to be one more giant hardship for 2016, troubling reports are coming in that Star Wars legend and all-around icon Carrie Fisher may be in critical condition. Fisher reportedly suffered a “massive” heart-attack aboard an airplane, and has been rushed to the hospital.

Colin Fruze of Stamford, England has got to be father of the year. Just ask his two boys, who can now play in their very own AT-ACT playhouse that looks like it walked right into his back yard from a Star Wars movie. “There is a 97.6 percent chance of failure,” one of the characters says in the new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, referring to their scheme to steal the plans for the Death Star. I’m not sure the percentage is that high for the movie itself, but it’s got to be up there. There’s a lot of risk for Rogue One, or at least as much risk as there can be for a Star Wars movie. It’s got to prove that there is life for the franchise beyond the main “saga” films. And it’s got to prove that a prequel can work in Star Wars (previously, it hasn’t always worked out for this property). Even in a galaxy far, far away, those are some awfully big questions.
