Every year two things come in the mail that I love and look forward to.

It's our annual Mother/Daughter shopping excursion. We get up super early, gather our address labels and $1.00 bags from TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Christmas Tree Shoppe and head down to Boston for the annual Boston Christmas Festival.

The reason we bring the bags is so we can carry all the cool stuff we get for Thanksgiving and Christmas. They have tons of vendors from all over New England with really cool stuff including handmade jewelry, clothing, beautiful home furnishings and my favorite part the free food aisle! An entire aisle of the trade center devoted to dips and chocolates that would make any party perfect. One of my favorites is the Dill dip from Steeplebush Farms in Limington, Maine. I put that dill seasoning in all my favorite Thanksgiving dishes and it makes a fabulous addition to meals throughout the year as well. They also have lots of things to sign up for to win as well, so bring your address labels too so you don't have to rewrite your address a million times.

The 28th Annual Boston Christmas Festival at the Seaport World Trade Center:

Steeplebush is having a holiday open house as well, so the weekend is going to be packed.

Maybe you can start a tradition of your own with your daughter, mom or friends. Finish the day off with a nice dinner and a glass of wine, and you have a perfect day.
