The most sought after Christmas gift for anyone who played video games in the 80's and 90's got a new shipment to stores in Maine today and they are already gone.

A limited amount of the NES Classic Edition, the tiny little box that plays 30 original Nintendo Entertainment System games, including Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, arrived at Maine retailers this morning.

Best Buy sent out emails to customers several weeks ago saying a new shipment would arrive on December 20. Checking the Best Buy website only an hour later, shows that they are already sold out.

The Morning Show at one of our sister stations in Poughkeepsie, New York managed to grab one at their local Best Buy.

Bull Moose posted this message on their website this morning for those seeking the NES Classic:

ANY STOCK WE RECEIVE GOING FORWARD IS SPECIFIC TO EACH OF OUR LOCATIONS. WE WILL NOT BE ALLOWING TRANSFERS FROM STORE TO STORE OR in HOLDS. WE APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

At this point, it seems that if you are hoping to surprise someone for Christmas with an NES Classic, you're out of luck. If you're willing to pay well over the $59.99 retail price, here are a bunch on sale on ebay. I'd pass on the one listed for $33,333.33.
