Movie Mom did not like the first Nut Job. So, she had super low expectations for this one. It did not even meet those...

Movie Mom's job was easy this week, as we are still in the dog days of summer when stinky movies are released. There was a scary one called 'Annabelle: Creation'. Movie Mom refuses to see scary movies - so she didn't go. And then there was 'The Nut Job 2'.

She didn't think it was possible, but it's worse than the Emoji Movie.

She actually said don't bring your kid to this, because it will lower their IQ! No story, stupid plot...blah, blah, blah.

On to the one movie she did like and could recommend, 'The Glass Castle'. IMDB says,

A young girl comes of age in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads with a mother who's an eccentric artist and an alcoholic father who would stir the children's imagination with hope as a distraction to their poverty.

It's based on a true story and is surprising in that it doesn't just cover the massive dysfunction these kids lived through, but what they did get from their parents that was good and makes them grateful.

Oscar Winner Brie Larson stars with Woody Harrelson and Naomi Watts as the parents.

Not much out to rent either. 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3' (stick to the first two) and 'King Arthur' (stick to any other version than this one).
