Then And Now – This Part of Portland Looks a Lot Different Today [PHOTOS]
Do you recognize this building? Do you know where it is in Portland? You might be surprised when you see what it looks like today.
This building is on the corner of what used to be Middle and Free Streets in Portland but they don't intersect there anymore since One City Center was built in the mid 1980's. Here's what the building looks like today from a similar angle.
Middle Street used to go all the way up to Monument Square where it would intersect with Congress Street. After many buildings in this area were torn down and replaced with more modern buildings, part of Middle Street became a sidewalk and was rerouted to connect with Spring Street.

And here's a similar shot I took today.
All the buildings on the right were torn down to make way for One City Center, where our studios are located today yet the other side of the old Middle Street is still all there a century later.
