This young pup had a rough start at life. Despite being deaf and suffering from anxiety due to abuse, Bayou is ready to love a new family.

According to his description on Petfinder.com, "Bayou is very shy when meeting new people, has been badly abused and is currently on anti-anxiety medication to help him with his transition."

Bayou is deaf because he is the result of breeding two Merle colored dogs. He might not be able to hear you, but his profile says, "He is a very sweet dog once he trusts you and really wants to please."

Bayou requires special food for his tummy (grain-free, fish based diet) and he would do best in a home with a tall fence and another pup his age for companionship.

This sweet boy is currently located at The Long Journey to a New Beginning Animal Shelter in Stow, Maine. Is Bayou the right dog for your family?
