Ya see, I had tickets to my ultimate favorite 80's band 'Eurythmics'...but I had to trade them in because my friend visiting wasn't going to be in town. So...we went to this concert instead! Don't laugh!

The year was 1985. I was living in Los Angeles and was a whopping 20 years old. I got a hold of tickets to Eurythmics at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles! It's an outdoor theater built in 1929 and it's super cool.

But alas, my friend who was visiting wasn't going to be there for the date...so I switched it to see (I'm hanging my head in shame)

LOU RAWLS OPENING FOR DIONNE WARWICK

Who?

Well, in the mid 80's Lou Rawls was really known for singing the Lowenbrau beer commercials. That's him singing.

And Dionne Warwick (who I secretly really do enjoy) had the the number one song out. The worst song ever:  'That's What Friends Are For'. Oh ugh...

I would be in my 30's before I actually saw Annie Lennox.. Still love her so. Eurythmics would have been the best first concert ever...but Dionnne Warwick was my real first concert.

Tell me just how uncool I am and share YOUR first concert!
