I don't know how long this game has been around and who the genius is that thought it up, but at your next outside party or cookout, you need to try it. It's too much fun!

It's called Frisbeer and it's a little like horseshoes but with frisbees and beer. We played this all week long at camp, and it's a blast.

It's played with teams of two and here's what you need:

2 Frisbees
2 five to six foot long posts
Lots of beer

Drive the posts into the ground leaving about four feet above ground. The posts can be made out of PVC pipe or wooden stakes like we did. Set them apart some distance based on how far an accurately you can throw a frisbee and the space you have available. 50 feet sounds good to me.

Wrap some duct tape around the bottom of the post with the top edge of the tape a foot above the ground.

Get two beer bottles. To make sure they don't shatter, do like we did and wrap them in duct tape. They still may break, but you'll be drinking beer so you can easily replace them.

Now make teams of two. Each player must have a beer in one hand at all times. It should be open, because who wants to play with an unopened beer?

Each team takes turns having one player each throw a frisbee at the opposing players stake that has a beer bottle on top of it. If the defending team fails to catch a catchable frisbee, it's one point. If the bottle is knocked off the stake, it's two points. Knock the bottle off AND fail to catch the frisbee on a throw and it's three points. First team to 21 wins.

Remember, you must have a beer in one hand at all times!

If a throw is deemed uncatchable no points are scored. Uncatchable throws are those that go off into the woods, land on a neighbor's roof, or ding your car. You'll know uncatchable when you see it.

All throws must be above the line at marked by the tape at the bottom of each stake. Any throws or hits below the line are unplayable.

You can buy the game in a store, but don't be stupid and waste your money. You probably have most of what you need lying around the house, especially the beer!

Here's a video that shows you how to make your own frisbeer game and what it looks like when it's played.

Enjoy!
