On Portland road in Saco, almost hidden by all the car dealerships, sits a tiny little diner that you may have never even noticed.

For 17 years The Auto Mile Diner has been serving up some of the best food in the state. I've been enjoying the food here for at least 10 years and I have never had so much as a bad bite!

The diner is small, only about 7 or 8 tables but I have never had to wait very long to get a seat.

As soon as you walk in the staff greets you with a smile and a warm "Good Morning!" Pictured below are Tim the cook, George the chef and owner, and Liz our waitress. Liz was the only server that day but that didn't slow her down one bit.

The menu has more food options than you would think for the size of the place, and everything is absolutely delicious. My favorite part is 'breakfast all day!'

Once you order it only takes a few minutes before your food is sitting in front of you. Just enough time to take a look around the place and see all the funny little nic-nacs George has collected or received as gifts over the years.

Or the "menu wall" as I call it.

This 3 egg omelette is stuffed with tomatoes, cheese, peppers and bacon (of course). I don't know how they do it, but it's perfect every single time! I went with home fries and toast as the sides..

Whenever he can, Chef George will even come out to your table, have a seat, make small talk or tell a few jokes. He doesn't ask how the food is, he doesn't have to. He already knows it's the best around.
