Two Boston men were charged with a hate crime on Wednesday after they said Donald Trump's anti-immigrant comments inspired them to severely beat and urinate on a homeless hispanic man.

On Thursday, The Boston Globe reported that two brothers from South Boston were arrested by police and charged with beating a 58-year-old homeless man with a metal pole. According to police, the two men broke the victim's nose, shattered his chest and arms, and urinated on him as he slept at a bus stop.

When they were arrested, they claimed that they were inspired by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump was right, all these illegals need to be deported,” the police said one of the brothers, Scott Leader, 38, told them. The New York Times carried the story yesterday.

Sadly, this isn't the first time that Trump's statements have been connected to others who commit violence. After his feud with Fox News Host Megyn Kelly surrounding questions asked at this month's Republican presidential debate, Kelly received death threats from Trump’s fans, leading the cable news to provide her with additional security.

When questioned by reporters yesterday about whether he might be responsible for the actions of his supporters, Trump brushed off the idea that his supporters were crossing the line, or that there was any line at all.

"My supporters are really passionate."
