When the State Police pulled over a vehicle Sunday night on Maine Mall Road and found crack cocaine, it quickly turned into a foot chase that troopers won.

The Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement Team, also known as PACE, found 18 grams of crack cocaine and $2500 in cash, which of course is suspected to be drug money because who carries around $2500 in cash?

27-year-old Mekonnen Berhe of Westbrook and 27-year-old Abdirizak Farah of South Portland both ran as soon as their stash was discovered but didn't get very far before they were caught, arrested and brought to the Cumberland County Jail to face charges of Unlawful Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs. On top of that, Berhe turned out to be an illegal immigrant.

Remember kids. Just say "no" to drugs.
