WATCH: Why Are People So Afraid Of Spiders?

I saw this guy crawling on the wall of my camper this week and it's a good thing my girlfriend wasn't there or she would have flipped out. Why are people so scared of spiders?

We live in Maine. There are 39 species of spiders in Maine and not a one of them is likely to kill or even so much as bite you unless you do something like I did by getting up close to him with a camera.

Clearly the spider fears humans more than we can possibly fear them, but that didn't stop people from leaving these GIFS on my Facebook page when I shared the video.

Relax people. They're harmless.
