Honestly. I don't know if it's because the planets are aligned, Venus is in retrograde...the horseshoe up my bum fell out - but I had a night that is one for the books!

It all started when I went to BJ's (make your own inappropriate joke!) and I couldn't find my American Express card.

I didn't panic. I know I had it out at work, and figured that I absentmindedly, left it on my desk. No problem, I grabbed my Visa - which was promptly declined! Of course, I had to have workers return everything. I called my card and learned they stopped my card because they thought there was fraud. I got it corrected, purchased my goods and all was well.

Of course, I was still missing my American Express card. I had Jeff check my desk (he was still at work)....nothing. He saw nothing.

Oddly, I'm not panicked yet. I really think I'll find it.

Jen was running around with the 10 year old I was watching the twins (7) when I got THIS call:

GET THE BOYS IN THE CAR AND GO TO THE GYM'S PARKING LOT TO FIND MY RING! I LOST MY WEDDING RING! AND THIS ISN'T LIKE WHEN I USUALLY LOSE THING. I MEAN THIS IS GONE! I'LL NEVER FIND IT!

And she was convinced that it was gone. Forever. Never to be found.

This is NOT a picture of her ring. But her ring is sparkly and shiny and has diamonds...and this one does too.

She had me go with the boys to check the parking lot of the gym she worked out in. We went with flashlights in hand. Nothing.

I called and she answered the phone:

DID YOU FIND IT??

I did not. She was freaked out. The people at Fit 212 (her gym) could NOT have been nicer, more accommodating and helpful. But alas...no ring.

Jen had tucked it in the sleeve of a sweatshirt and when she went to put on the sweatshirt - it was gone!

Jen was at the Falmouth Middle school (the 10-year old plays basketball)  when she called her dad who brought over a metal detector. I had the boys checking the parking lot of the gym. Jen put on the sweatshirt (where she tucked her ring) in the parking lot of the middle school....

Here's the bottom line. As I was driving the boys to the middle school to help Jen search THAT parking lot...I got a call.

I FOUND IT!

Oh, the relief in her voice was palpable. It was funny. But I knew it would be found. I really did. I just knew it. I knew it wasn't 'lost forever'. I don't know how I knew, I just knew.

Here's the absolute crazy part. The ring was found on the windshield of the car next to hers. So when she put the sweatshirt on, the ring must have flipped out of it and onto the car next to hers!

What the hell...

I still haven't found my credit card, and I'm a little panicked - but pretty calm too. I'll deal with that tomorrow...I'm just glad to get through this night...
