Learned something this weekend that astonished me. Am I the only one with kids who had no idea about this common occurrence?

I didn't want a whole watermelon the other day at the store, so I picked up one that was quartered. I sliced it up and served it with dinner. One of the twins (10-year-old boy) wasn't eating all of his slice before going for another one.

I asked him why he wasn't finishing his watermelon and he said it was because of 'all the black stuff'.

Black stuff? You mean the SEEDS? Yes..the seeds. He has become so spoiled with seedless watermelons, that he didn't even know what a seed was! What??

He was having none of it. So I bought a seedless watermelon. Those seeds are kind of a pain in the butt...
