What’s the Biggest, Grossest Creature You’ve Ever Seen in Maine?

I was just about to sit down with my morning coffee on Chebeague Island when I noticed this big guy oozing his way up the screen door.

I've never need a slug quite like this one. He was roughly 7 inches long (estimate only, I didn't want to get too close) and the feelers on his head danced around at rapid speed. He was half way up the screen before he changed his course.

We discovered him later in the morning all the way across the deck, nearly 20 feet away from his first post on the screen door. He was kind enough to pose for some glamour shots before we left him to his slug activities.
