Why Did Lori Once Punch a Cop?

I have had only good experiences with the police in Maine. I think they have a very, very hard job and I have the utmost respect. Although, there was that one time I punched one. 

I know, I know. It wasn't a brawl in the Old Port where a cop was pulling me off of someone and I was wasted. Oh no...

It was a couple of years ago and I was driving in Portland. I spaced and went through a red light...the cop was RIGHT behind me. I had no idea the light was red, because in my head it was green. It was the ultimate brain fart.

When the officer told me what I did I said...

I what? No way! Seriously?

Then I punched him in the arm. Sorta like you would a friend. The very patient officer then said to me in the MOST serious voice...

Please don't touch me Ma'am.

Oh man. He let me off with a warning. He shoulda maced me.
