I still remember Mom's order.

One of the coolest parts of my job here at the Q is working with some of the best clients in Maine, and brands we all know and love. After working with the amazing people at Dunkin' Donuts for the past few months, I think everyone knows how to #CarpeDunkin and seize the day, but I just found out why I really do it.

Last Tuesday, I was back home in Biddeford for the rollout of the 2015 Pumpkin Spice lineup, and we had a blast drinking pumpkin coffee when it was 90 degrees out. Hey, it's never too early for pumpkin spice, right?

But it wasn't just the coffee that made it an interesting experience. Several customers came up to me at Dunkin's that morning, just to tell me that they remembered my mom. Some of my old friends from high school, a few of her old co-workers, and even an employee at the store remembered how much she loved Dunkin's.

Kathleen Gavin was a teacher in the Biddeford school system, and a serial coffee drinker. Seriously - she drank like three large coffees a day. We even used to joke with her that she could have put me through college with her annual Dunkin's budget.

Mom's been gone for more than five years, and it's sort of a weird thing for me to talk about. Her birthday comes and goes each year, and it doesn't really bother me. Even on Mothers' Day each year, when a lot of people talk about missing their parents, I'm not really one to talk about Mom. Friends can definitely attest to that.

But for some reason, being back home and seeing everyone in that environment again sort of brought everything full circle, so to speak.

So I guess that's why I love to #CarpeDunkin... It tastes amazing, I look great in pink and orange, Mom loved it, and you never know when you won't have another chance.
