Yelp Teams Up With Market Street Eats To Benefit Non-Profit Groups In Maine
The sandwich for March is called The Pork Awakens and it sounds absolutely delicious; Black forest ham, crispy bacon, cheddar, mixed greens with herbs, tomatoes, spicy Thai mayo. The sandwich will be available from March 1st through the 31st. Then, in April, they'll create a different sandwich to benefit a different non profit organization. This process will be repeated until the end of July.
A portion of the proceeds from every sandwich sold during the month will go directly to Portland Gear Hub, a non-profit outdoor gear and bike shop powered by Camp Ketcha.
The Portland Gear Hub is staffed year round and has hundreds of bicycle loving volunteers. In 2016 over 500 volunteers helped Portland Gear Hub sort skis, repair kids' bikes, and translate a traffic safety class into French, and other languages. They also have a handful of youth programs for the kids.
