There is a pretty good chance that we will not see things completely return to normal until later this year.  Yes, as the COVID-19 cases drop, we will see restrictions slowly lifted, but there is a good chance that could take a considerable number of months.  As a result, you still may not be able to go on that vacation you were planning to take LAST YEAR!

So, this could be another year where we spend our time off exploring our own, amazing, state.

That’s why we have put together a list of eleven “must visit” Maine towns.  Instead of just highlighting obvious places (like Old Orchard Beach or Portland), we did a bit of a deep dive.  We wanted to highlight the towns that you might not immediately think of when looking for a day-trip or overnight getaway.

Highlighted towns include Freeport, Presque Isle, Augusta, Bangor, Skowhegan, and Belfast.

Obviously, due to the fluid nature of the ongoing pandemic, we cannot be sure that all of the attractions listed below are fully open.  As a result, please check the town or attraction’s website or Facebook page.

Take a look at our list and let us know what towns we should add and what your favorite parts are in the towns we are already featuring.
