A promotional film for Maine ski areas from the 1950's has surfaced on YouTube and it features several ski resorts from that you know today as they were just getting started.

The 25 minute film shows the Maine Turnpike in it's infancy too as skiiers get off at a very undeveloped Exit 8 in Westbrook, now Exit 48, and take a trip up Route 302 to visit Pleasant Mountain, Mt. Abram, Sunday River, Black Mountain and many more. Some names have changed since then and almost all of them have grown substantially.

It's amazing to see how much skiing in Maine has changed.
