2nd Annual Savage Family Turkey Trot 5K Thanksgiving Morning
The Savage family wants to give back and honor Nathan Savage. The 2nd Annual Turkey Trot 5k is Thanksgiving morning at Bug Light Park in South Portland.
Nathan was an avid runner, biker, triathlete and family man. He lost his life to a fatal heart attack on July 2, 2016. This was just three weeks before he was set to compete in his first full Ironman event, and just months prior to his 40th birthday. Nellie and their triplets, Reese, Maizie, and Charlotte (Charlie) carried on a goal of holding a very family friendly 5K they had discussed before Nathan passed...
This year's event will fall on November 23rd. The proceeds stay local and benefit the Nathan Savage Memorial Fund.
Last year they were able to donate six thousand dollars! This fund will be used within the South Portland recreation department again this year. So, prepare to have that extra helping at dinner, or that second (or third) piece of pie and join the fun!
Run, walk, bring your friends, your family and maybe even your well behaved dog (on leash, of course). Start your Thanksgiving day off by supporting an amazing family and a great cause.
