Maine sees the sunrise first and it's the most beautiful sunrise in the country. From the tops of mountains to the chilly ocean beaches, here are four of the best spots to see a stunning Maine sunrise.

Set your alarm, snag a cozy blanket, and go see the sky turn from black to purples and pinks and oranges.

Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park

We woke up at 3:45 AM to see the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain at 4:45 AM - and it was completely worth it! This is the 1st spot the sun hits the U.S. and the sunrise here is beautiful. You can see far in the distance and almost 360 degrees around you. It truly is stunning! I definitely recommend coming here for the sunrise of you are able to.

Crescent Beach State Park in Cape Elizabeth

Beautiful place to visit for a walk, to see waterfowl, sunsets, sunrises into even walk your dog in the off-season months. Sandy beaches in warm sunshine in the summer.

Eastern Promenade & East End Beach in Portland

I am in love with the Eastern Promenade. It offers a fabulous, breathtaking view of Casco Bay. And oh my, if you take Congress Street to get there, the ocean starts to come in view at the crest of the hill...don't miss it! Tons of space to walk around, there is a beach and running trails, public restrooms (seasonal), and cool people everywhere! Sunrise or moonrise, this is without a doubt the ultimate spot in this charming little city.

Higgins Beach in Scarborough

One of my fondest memories is waking up to the sound of the birds in and around the cottages at sunrise and grabbing a cup of hot tea for my morning walk on the beach.
