A List of Theaters in Maine That Accept the Subscription Based MoviePass

MoviePass has been called the Netflix for movie theaters. A subscription service that lets you watch one movie a day at movie theaters for only $9.99 a month. The service claims to be available at 91% of movie theaters in the country, but how many of them are in Maine?

MoviePass works by issuing you a card that you take with you to a movie theater to watch the movie of your choice. IMAX and 3D movies are not included. An app installed on your phone lets the service know what theater you're in and what movies are playing. You select the movie you want to see on the app and your card is automatically loaded with the price of admission and you use it like you would a debit or credit card to pay for your ticket. All this costs only $9.99 a month to watch one movie every day.

It's not for everyone. You can only buy one ticket per day, so if you don't plan to go to the movies alone, you'll have to pay full price for more tickets or have your friends and family use their own membership and smartphone. Another drawback is you can't get a list of participating theaters without signing up for the service first, but someone has solved that problem.

A website has done the work for you and allows you to enter your zip code to get a list of theaters that accept MoviePass. They don't guarantee the accuracy, as things may change, but it should give you a good idea of where you can probably use MoviePass.
