Crime isn't a huge issue in Maine compared to other parts of the county, but there are some places that are safer to live than others. A new study has come up with the top 10 towns and cities in Maine that are the safest.

To determine the top 10 safest cities, Safewise looked at statistics from the most recent FBI crime report for Maine showing the number of reported violent crimes like aggravated assault, murder, rape, and robbery that were reported in each city. The latest report available is from 2017. You can check out the complete methodology here.
