Dreamt up by owners and builders Heidi and Nicholas, their goal was to create an enchanting and quiet place to stay in the Maine woods, using mostly local materials that blend into the landscape. The story goes that Heidi had a dream (literally) that featured a fox-shaped home, with a metal roof reflecting the sun.

The fox theme doesn't end with the outward appearance, as foxy but subtle details and accessories also pop up inside the elevated home, from an adornment over a magical arched doorway (below) to throw pillows.
