Are Beats Headphones Really Worth $300?

As a person who uses headphones on a daily basis as part of his job, I can't understand how a pair of them can possibly cost $300. Beats headphones are absurdly priced and for what? The Dr. Dre name? The quality? The sound? 

According to Consumer Reports all you're really paying for is the name. The sound quality is good, and the noise cancellation is excellent. However there are headphones out there that are just as good for a much cheaper price.

Marques Brownlee, who produces tech videos on his YouTube channel MKBHD, put together this video that expertly explains why Beats headphones are so crazy expensive.
