Get ready Auburn, you're getting a Five Guys just in time for summer.

It's been torture watching a Five Guys slowly take place where the old Varney Agency was on Center Street in Auburn. But it's so going to be worth it once they put the finishing touches on and get all the right paperwork.

Back in early February the new franchisee, Jody Goehring told the Sun Journal, that this Five Guys will also have a pick-up window. No, not a drive-thru, a pick-up. She explained the difference...

It’s not quite a traditional drive-thru, but they look very much like it. You order ahead, then you tap a button on the app that says ‘I’m on my way,’ and we can kind of watch as you make your way to the restaurant. We start cooking food at different times, so that when you get there it’s all fresh and ready to go for you.

However, in a recent article about the opening date for the new Auburn Five Guys, which is soon after Memorial Day Weekend, the Sun Journal referred to it as a drive-thru window.

According to the Sun Journal,

It will be the first Five Guys in Maine to have a drive-thru, although that won’t be ready for operation until mid-June. Dine-in and takeout will be offered as soon as they open their doors.

They are also looking to hire around 50 people for all sorts of positions. I wish them all the luck in that tricky part of opening a business these days. Good luck to Jody and welcome to Auburn. I have a feeling she won't need any help getting the word out that there's a Five Guys in town!
