This little seal pup decided she wanted to go explore the mainland of Bar Harbor and found herself in the middle of a busy road on Friday morning. Lucky for her, she was spotted by a passerby before any harm could come to her.

Bar Harbor police stayed by her side until a rescue team from Allied Whale at the College of the Atlantic could arrive to rescue her. She's now safe and sound and being treated at Marine Mammals of Maine. She'll soon be transported to a marine life center in Massachusetts  for further rehabilitation.

Remember, if you see a seal pup, don't approach it. Stay at least 150 feet away and call the Maine stranding hotline: 1-800-532-9551.
