With every Disaster comes scams, and the Coronavirus is no different, and on Friday, State Regulators warned of such tactics.

According to the FTC, Americans have, on average lost $533 per victim and a grand total of 18 million dollars, thePortland Press Herald stated.

In an article from the Portland Press Herald, Maine Insurance Superintendent Eric Cioppa said the following:

“With the current health emergency, Mainers need to be cautious about scammers, including fraudulent telephone solicitations and cybercriminals.”

Mr. Cioppa also strongly suggested that Mainers only look up insurance on Government sites such as https://www.maine.gov/pfr/insurance/ to ensure accuracy and reliability, the newspaper stated.
