The Bathroom at Billy’s Chowder House in Wells, Maine, Will Make You Want to Be a Thief

Remember when bathrooms were just bathrooms?

Somehow, at some point, they got massive upgrades. Like, massive enough to actually be talked about outside of when it's just being used.

Over the summer, what was considered "the most magical-looking bathroom in New England" was highlighted and unofficially named to be inside the walls of The Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

And, apparently rightfully so, as according to that feature, the bathrooms at the Music Hall finished second in a national contest put on by Cinta's to find America's Best Restroom back in 2015. All judgment about ranking bathrooms aside, they do look pretty cool.

But sometimes, it's just the simple things. And depending on your taste in movies, a popular Wells, Maine restaurant could have you channeling your inner kleptomaniac.

If you've never been to Billy's Chowder House in Wells, it's this quaint little joint right along the water on Mile Road. There's not a bad view in the house, as pretty much every single window captures a view of the marsh that surrounds a good bit of the restaurant.

(Which, understandably a "marsh" doesn't sound like a beautiful view, but combine the sun shining off the glistening water and the sand surrounding it, and you forget it's a marsh since it gives off an oceanfront feel.)

But it's not the delicious cocktails or even the delicious food on the menu that will have you wanting to be a thief. No, your kleptomania will sprout from a place you wouldn't even think of.

The bathroom. Well, at least the men's -- this author can't speak to the women's.

Because this is one of the pictures that hangs in the men's room at Billy's. And if you're a fan of the movie GoodFellas -- first off, great taste -- why wouldn't you want to walk out with a picture from the movie signed by Robert DeNiro?
