Shop in your Pajamas for One Day in Boothbay Harbor, Maine
Want to get up wicked early and head to the prettiest town in Maine in your pajamas?
The Saturday before Thanksgiving, it's the Early Bird Sale in Boothbay Harbor. Time to not get dressed and keep the PJs on!
Wait, I'm SUPPOSED to wear pajamas while shopping in Boothbay Harbor, Maine?
Not only is it okay, it's encouraged! Kjirsten Flores, the Marketing Coordinator for the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce says,
Honestly it's my FAVORITE day of the whole year. It's an absolute blast to see your mailman, the fire chief, and your 3rd grade teacher all dressed up in their jammies going shopping downtown. Some people go all out - curlers, slippers, bathrobes-- or festive snuggly onesies! It's become quite the tradition for folks. Some even plan their yearly girl's trips to come stay over and then go out on the town to score deals and shop local—In matching pajama pants of course!
What else happens at the Early Bird Sale & Pajama Party in Boothbay Harbor, Maine?
There are door prizes and some businesses do specials depending on how early you're there—but some go all day! You should check the Boothbay Register for the list of businesses and their deals and discounts. There are always breakfast, brunch, and lunch specials at local restaurants and pubs.
The Pot Buoy Selfie Contest

Then the grand prize drawing of a $250.00 local e-gift card will be awarded!
End the day of shopping in Boothbay Harbor with a parade and chili cook-off!
At night it's the annual Lighted Firetruck and First Responder Parade + Chili Cookoff. The trucks are on display as they try to win the coveted Dalmation Cup! After the parade (which starts at 4 PM and finishes around 4:50) the judges and people's choice winners will be announced then it's time to eat chili at the Meadow Mall.
This might just be the most fun you've ever had getting all your holiday shopping done in one quaint Maine town.
