Boston Kitty Named Buzz Lightyear for Unfortunate Reason That Was Fixed
Oh, cats. They are so cute and so crazy. This little one is gonna be okay.
The Animal Rescue League of Boston’s (ARL) Field Services Department helped Fall River Animal Control rescue a neighborhood roaming kitten who somehow got her head in a glass bowl of some type.
Hence the name Buzz Lightyear. It looks like it might be a light fixture on her head. This kitten is only 6 months old and was spotted by someone who has been watching out for and feeding cats in the area. They contacted Fall River Animal Control. How to get this street kitty so they could get that darn glass bowl off her head?
They needed to trap Buzz, but because she had that damn bowl on her head, she couldn't smell. So they needed to use food to lure two of Buzz's siblings into a trap and out of curiosity (it IS a cat) she followed.
Once Buzz was in the cage, they were able to safely handle the kitty and get that glass jar off. Then she was off to Dedham Animal Care and Adoption Center, where soon she will be ready to find her forever home.
Although she was dirty from living on the street and ya know, the whole Buzz Lightyear headgear, she was in good health. She is settling into her new surroundings and learning to trust humans. She has a lot of people in love with her wanting to give her a good home. Hang on just a little longer...almost.
While rescuing Buzz, they found several other feral cats that they will be monitoring and making sure they are healthy and as happy as street kitties can be.
