Before I go off on a lil baby tangent here, let me first disclaim that I went to college in Massachusetts and spent a lot of my adult life living in all different boroughs of the city. Throughout that time, I got to know the aura of the city pretty damn well, and although I love the city I spent a lot of my 20's in, "caring" is probably the last word I'd use to describe it. So this is why I'm a little indifferent towards the results of this study that Boston.com came out with that ranks Boston the 3rd most caring city in the U.S.

Are Boston residents friendly?

According to Boston.com, "caring means having a connection with others and being concerned for their wellbeing.” That being said, Boston ranks high because of the city’s rates of volunteering, donations to charity, and people in professions that require care. If you define "caring" through job titles and charities then sure, there's tons of that in the city. In fact it's a huge reason why I'll always love Boston. However, I don't think I'd go as far as to say the majority of people residing in the city are very...caring.

Let's take sports for instance. Boston fans are the most insane humans in the world. I love them for it, and it makes life fun. But if you find yourself on the wrong side of a Patriots fan, you're about to have a terrible day. Truthfully, it doesn't take much either to be on the wrong side of a Patriots, Bruin's, or Redsox fan. While Boston has so many awesome things about it, the list would feel more accurate if it was labeled the 3rd most aggressive city in the U.S. Do you agree?
