Growing up in my house in Connecticut, we always had cats, granted they are very independent creatures and only want your attention when they see fit, those are the type of qualities that will make you instantly fall in love with them.

That is why when I saw this online today, I knew not helping wasn't going to fly.

It seems that Valentine, a furry friend to a Portland woman, has gone missing.

The woman named Katrina posted in a neighborhood group on Nextdoor.com on Monday, looking for any information in order to reunite with her bundle of joy.

"Valentine was last seen on the corner of Adams and Kellogg Street on Munjoy Hill. She was wearing a mint green harness and leash. My son was holding her and not her leash for a minute when she got spooked by something and got away," she said in the posting.

According to Katrina, Valentine is gray, black, and white.

She added that "you can tell that she had lots of babies in her former home."

"Valentine has made a huge difference in our lives (especially my son's). We miss her so much," Katrina concluded the post.

If you have any information, contact Katrina at 207-590-0551.

Hopefully, Valentine will make its way home as I can only imagine what it must be like to be missing a pet.
