Get ready for the Fenway Bowl...at Fenway Park!

Yup. They are gonna have to take that mound out, add some more grass and paint and have teams from the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). While the Red Sox rest, college football will start in 2020.

Who will play in the Fenway Bowl? Well, ya gotta wait and see. Teams will be picked based on a teams win-loss record and how close they are to Boston.

This isn't the first time football has come to Fenway. Fenway has been around since 1912 when it first opened. But they hosted high school and college football games throughout the early 20th century and even was home to the Boston Patriots from 1963-68.

Then just 4 years ago football returned to Fenway Park for the first time since 1968 when Notre Dame hosted Boston College in their Shamrock Series game. Okay...so they know how to flatten the mound.

According to a press release from Elevate Communications, Boston is pretty psyched about this with Mayor Marty Walsh saying,

There's no better place for sports than Boston, and we look forward to this new tradition at Fenway Park.

We agree!
