Every Smartphone in the Country Will Go Off Tomorrow at 2:18 P.M.
At 2:18PM on Wednesday, October 3rd, anyone with a smartphone turned on in the United States is going to get a notification, but don't panic.
FEMA has scheduled a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System to make sure the system is working properly to inform the nation of a national emergency. You've probably heard this alert when it is tested on television and on our radio station on a weekly basis.
With cellphones now capable of receiving an EAS alert, your phone will likely go off as well on Wednesday at 2:18 p.m. You'll hear the familiar alert tones and see a message that looks like this.
It will read:
PRESIDENTIAL ALERT - THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.
No worries. Just a test, but don't be surprised when every phone around you starts making noise. If you want to learn more about the test, hit the link below.
