The Old Farmers' Almanac is predicting a colder (and snowy) winter for Maine in 2017.

The long range forecast says the winter will be "colder than normal, on average, with slightly above-normal precipitation and near-normal snowfall."

But the summer won't be as hot, according to the forecast, which covers the period from November 2016 to October 2017.

"Summer will be cooler than normal, despite hot periods in early to mid-July and mid- to late August," says the Almanac.

It looks like the fall might be chilly, too, with September and October expected "to be cooler than normal with near-normal rainfall."

We all know the weather can change pretty fast around Bangor, so it's probably best to take the predictions with a grain of salt. Just in case, you might want to buy a warm coat if you don't have one.
