Portland is very gay friendly...where can you go to eat, drink, stay and just see some same sex couples? Here's a guide if you are gay...

There aren't a ton of gay bars in Portland. Styxx had been around for 30 years and recently closed. Some saw it as a good sign that Portland doesn't need a gay bar, because any bar can be a gay bar. But...there are a couple left.

According to Gay Cities **

BLACKSTONES: Portland's oldest, only, & evolving gay bar.  Blackstones used to be Portland's dark, default leather bar -- a thing of mystery and a joint many guys would have avoided, even five years ago. Like many of its ilk throughout the country, though, Blackstones has become the city's most inviting gay bar, and it's not uncommon to see a bachelorette party co-mingling with the Harbor Masters, the city's official leather set.

FLASK: 119 Spring Street in Portland. A fun, neighborhood bar in Portland's West End, much like being in your own living room! We offer daily specials, live and local entertainment w/ dj's and bands of all genres. Great Drinks & Great Vibes! We are located 1 block away from The State Theatre & the newly renovated Cross Insurance Arena. Everyone is Welcome at Flask!

Let's eat, drink and be merry!

Oh and don't forget Maine's own 'P-Town'...Ogunquit! A gay mecca of beaches, inns, restaurants and tons of super fun bars!

**Some places listed are no longer in business. You may want to call ahead before making plans. Now, go have some fun!**
