This is like all those holiday baking shows you watch on Netflix, but brought to life. If you're a baker, the holidays are easily your time to shine, especially at this adorable annual baking event in New England.

Portsmouth, New Hampshire is home to a magical Gingerbread House Contest that's been bringing bakers of all ages together for over 30 years! This year marks their 34th competition and you're invited to compete!

Where: Portsmouth Historical Society
When: November 29th, 2024

You might be wondering what type of picture the judges are looking for you to paint through your gingerbread, so here's what portsmouthcity.org has explained.

"Recreate your favorite holiday memory out of gingerbread! It could be an indoor scene with everyone snuggled around a cozy fire, a candy cane tree farm, a poured sugar ice skating rink – anything that takes you back to a treasured moment. Infamous memories are welcome as well – the aftermath of an epic silly string fight, the time the turkey caught fire, any story that brings a smile to your face when you tell it is fair game".

As mentioned earlier, all local bakers can be of any age or skill level which means anybody is welcome to join. If you're not the baking type, there's still something for you here. You can scroll through photos or stop by the exhibition to vote on your favorite gingerbread house. It all begins November 29-December 30th and you can click here to vote and gather more details for the fam.
