    Willard Beach in South Portland

    Willard Beach is "tucked between Fisherman’s Point and the campus of Southern Maine Community College in a quiet neighborhood of South Portland," according to the City of South Portland's website.

    This small sand and pebble beach is the perfect spot for your dog to splash around in.

    The City of Portland states that dogs are allowed on the beach in the summer but only before 9 a.m. and after 7 p.m.

    Long Sands Beach in York

    Ready for about a mile of white sandy beach?

    Long Sands Beach is "located halfway between the villages of York Harbor and York Beach," according to yorkparksandrec.org.

    The York Parks and Rec Department states that dogs are allowed on the beach after 6 p.m., but they must be on a leash.

    Short Sands Beach in York

    If you're looking for a smaller stretch of soft sand, then Short Sands Beach is for you.

    According to yorkparksandrec.org, this "quarter-mile-long sandy pocket beach [is] tucked between rocky cliffs in the village of York Beach" at Ellis Park.

    The York Parks and Rec Department states that dogs are allowed on the beach after 6 p.m., but they must be on a leash.

    Kennebunk Beach in Kennebunk

    If your dog wants to play in the surf or roll around in the sand, there's plenty of room at this beach.

    Gokennebunks.com states that "dogs are welcome on the Kennebunk beaches all day from Labor Day to June 15 and before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. from June 15 to Labor Day."

    Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport

    If you're looking for a sandy beach perfect for a summer walk, you've found it here.

    This three-mile long beach is on Kings Highway, off Route 9, and north of Cape Porpoise, according to gokennebunks.com.

    The Town of Kennebunkport states that dogs are allowed on the beach before 8:30 a.m. and after 6 p.m. and must be on a leash. However, from June 15 to September 30, between 6:00 am and 7:30 am, dogs may be off leash, if under voice and sight control.

    Wells Beach in Wells

    Sandy beach? Say no more.

    Wells Beach is another dog-friendly beach your pup will love running around on.

    Dogs are allowed on the beach from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m., according to the Wells Chamber of Commerce, and they must be on a leash.

    Fort Foster Park in Kittery Point

    Looking for an all-day beach adventure with your dog?

    There's no real time restrictions here, according to fortfoster.weebly.com, as dogs can be on the beach from sunrise to sunset, but they must be leashed at all times.

    You may happen to see seals beach on this shore as well, (yes, seals!), but just remember to keep your dogs away from them.
