I’d Like To Respond to the Comments on This Picture of Me in Las Vegas
Michele and I just got back from a fantastic trip to Las Vegas. We've been a few times now and absolutely love it. It's like an amusement park for adults. If you've never been, I highly recommend it, but maybe don't go in August like we did when the high temperature was 106°. It's hard to avoid that heat when you have to walk just about everywhere you want to go on the Las Vegas Strip.
One place we stopped on a 10-degree cooler day was a cocktail bar at the Wynn Hotel and Casino. They had an outdoor space right near a shallow pool of water and a waterfall. Michele ordered some fruity drink in a tall glass and I had a whisky on the rocks.
Michele took this picture of me enjoying my drink, the atmosphere, and of course spending some much-needed alone time with her.
I'm not one that usually thinks he photographs well, but I thought this picture turned out pretty good.
Both Michele and I posted the picture to our Facebook pages and the comments started coming in hot. Let's take a look, shall we? I'll address each comment one at a time.
Yes, my legs are pretty pale. I don't spend much time in the sun.
Yes. We all do. Mine just are usually hidden.
Born and raised a white-legged Maine boy.
No, I do not shave my legs. There is some hair on them, but much like my head, I'm losing hair on my legs too from about midcalf down. Maybe a side effect of my chemotherapy treatment 10 years ago? I really don't know, but it doesn't bother me in the least. I don't have a Lady Bic, and when I started in radio, I had a full leg and head of hair.
I saw this one coming as soon as the pale leg comments started.
No comment as this has already been covered.
If you're asking if I'm wearing underwear Brett, of course I am. If you're asking if the shorts you see me wearing in the photo ARE my underwear, they are not.
I'm going to take that as a compliment Voornas, because it sounds like you're calling me "The Most Interesting Man in the World." However, I don't drink Dos Equis.
Any further questions? Don't ask. I think we've covered, or uncovered my legs pretty well.
