I’m Vacationing At Home This Year in Portland

Since I moved to Maine a few months ago, everyone has told me not to take any summer vacations. That is, any time off I have, I should stay right here in vacationland.

WalletHub's recent ranking of the best cities for staycations confirmed this popular belief, placing Portland in 22nd place in the country for the best place to stay at home for some R&R.

Between my many trips out of state for other people's vacations (read: weddings, bachelorette parties, bridal showers, etc.,) I for one will be staying here and frequenting breweries, nomming unbeatable food, hiking around inland lakes, and escaping to islands on ferries.
