Iconic Maine Nightspot Announces Permanent Closure
If you are an adult of legal drinking age, and you are in that phase of your life where you like to go out with friends, there is a good chance that you have a favorite spot.
Not to sound like the theme song of a popular NBC TV show from the 80s and 90s, but your spot is the place where everyone knows your name. It's the place where you feel most comfortable and the establishment where the bartender starts your drink before you even step up to the bar.
For thousands of people over the last four decades, that place has been the Adams Street Pub in Biddeford, Maine.
Sadly, it looks like that era has come to an end.
According to a post on the Adams Street Pub Facebook page, the establishment has closed permanently after being in business for 40 years.
The post says, in part:
Unfortunately as of today, Adam’s Street Pub is officially closed for good. Thank you all for 40 years of business, wild nights, memories and one hell of a reputation. Townhouse Pub remains open with their normal business hours. Once again thank you all, it’s been a blast!
We wish the best to the owners and their employees.
No reason was give for the closure.
The good news is that the Adams Street Pub's sister bar, the Townhouse Pub in Saco, is still open.
On a personal note, I had a chance to DJ there on several occasions. I even had a chance to DJ the New Years Eve party ringing in 2023 there. Cool venue with a unique vibe.
