Here in Maine, we are lucky to have some of the nation's most dedicated police and detectives.

Despite their dedication, sometimes cases go unsolved for decades.  In most cases, however, the crimes are eventually solved.

For example, in early May, the Maine State Police made an arrest in the 1984 killing of Linda Maxwell.  She had gone missing after spending an evening with friends in Calais.  Her body was found a few days later on the banks of the St. Croix River.  On May 1st, 2025, police arrested 65-year-old Raymond Brown and charged him with her killing.

The Maine State Police are now in the process of tackling another cold case.

His body had been discovered by the building's management.  They had been called to the apartment after neighbors reported a strong odor in the building.
