
Here’s What the Farmers’ Almanac Has to Say About the Upcoming Winter in Maine, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts
Given the fact that much of Northern New England is experiencing a heatwave, it is kind of hard to imagine that we'll soon be dealing with ice, snow, and freezing temperatures.
However, it is true that winter will soon be upon us.
For the last few years, we have gotten off easy when it comes to winter weather. It has been several years since we have had to deal with any really rough winter conditions.
It looks like that may be about to change, though.
The Farmers' Almanac Forecast For Winter 2025/2026
According to the latest edition of the Farmers' Almanac, we are in for a wild ride this winter.
The Farmers' Almanac. based in Lewiston, Maine, is calling for several brutal cold snaps throughout the winter. They estimate that one of these will be in the middle of January and another will happen in the middle of February.
The latest edition of the annual guide, which is celebrating 207 years this year, says that this winter will be much snowier than it has been the last few years. In New England, we can expect frequent snowstorms throughout the winter. However, all of these storms may not be purely snow. The book suggests that we could often see these storms bring a mix of precipitation/
The writers also estimate that we will see winter conditions continue through the first part of April. Yes, it looks like we are in for a long winter this time around!
