Couple Gets Married at the Fryeburg Fair in Maine
As a wedding DJ, I always tell my couples that the most important thing to remember about their big day is that it is THEIR big day.
What do I mean? They should do anything they want to put their stamp on it.
People will often as questions like, "what's the right way to do XYZ?" The answer is that there is no real right way.
While I often suggest that the vendors be allowed the freedom to make sure the event is a fun one for the guests, I remind them that they can do things however they want and in whatever order they want.
This extends to where the ceremony and/or reception take place. There is no reason why the ceremony should not take place at a place that means something to the couple. The beach, the summit of their favorite ski mountain, their favorite restaurant.
Or, even a fair!
The Fryeburg Fair Hosts a Wedding
While some people plan to get married at their favorite place for years, for others, it is a spur of the moment decision. This is how it was for Amy and Kris.
A post of the Fryeburg Fair Facebook page says, in part:
Fairgoers Amy Crossman & Kris Milliken came to the office and asked if we had a notary available to marry them. And yes we did! Turns out Amy & Kris wanted to get married with his parents in attendance and there was no time better than tonight's opportunity! Flowers courtesy Expo One Flower Show crew. Sometimes the best plans are in the moment!
Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Milliken!
