Over the last few decades, we have seen big changes in "dating technology."

What do I mean?

In the 1980s and early 1990s, people who were having trouble finding a significant other would post ads in the newspaper or record a video dating profile.

Lately, these video profiles have been popping up on social media, and they are REALLY cringy.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, there were dozens of dating websites, including Yahoo! Personals and eHarmony.

Now, we have dating apps.  Of course, the OG of dating apps is Tinder, but there are also a slew of them aimed at certain members of society: Christian, LGBTQ+, Black, etc

Facebook even has a dating option.

Despite all of these dating services, some people still have problems finding a special someone.  As I scroll through Facebook, I am constantly seeing posts from attractive women and men who are gainfully employed and seemingly have their lives together but still cannot find someone to share their life with.

Maybe the answer is not a dating website or app, but the seasonal aisle at your local grocery store.

Maine Craigslist Missed Connections

If you are not familiar with Missed Connections on Craigslist it is basically just what the name implies.  If you were standing in line behind an attractive redhead at Walmart but did not have the courage or drive to talk to the person, you can post on this page in hopes that they will see the post and respond.

In a January 5 post, a user wrote about how they recently (just before Thanksgiving) ran into their old boss at Hannaford in Gardiner.

The poster says that they used to work with this person at a business in Waterville and that they had a big crush on them.

Is it you?  Maybe this person is your soulmate?

Check out the post and get details about responding HERE.
