I really cannot believe that we are just a few days away from Thanksgiving.

This year has definitely flown by!

It feels like it was just last week that we were all recovering from New Years Eve and that it was just a few days ago that we were celebrating Independence Day.  Nope, those holidays were months ago.  Now, we're getting ready for the last few holidays of 2025.

While many Americans are planning to spend the Thanksgiving holiday at (or near) home, millions of others will be traveling for the holiday.

Fortunately, it looks like most of us planning to travel within Maine will have decent weather.

The Thanksgiving Forecast For Maine

According to Weather.com, the days leading up to, and immediately following, the holiday will be fairly mild.

In the Augusta/Waterville area, Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high in the mid 40s, there will be some rain showers and a high in the mid 40s for Wednesday, and we could see some rain showers on Thanksgiving.  Black Friday and the days following will also be very mild.  Through the weekend, we'll see partly sunny skies and highs in the mid 40s.

In Aroostook County, Tuesday will be mild, but there is a chance that you could have to deal with some rain and slush on Wednesday and Thanksgiving day.  It does not look like it will amount to much, but you are going to want to make sure you allow extra time to get where you are going.

The forecast for Southern Maine is very similar to the Central Maine forecast.  Tuesday and Wednesday will be partly sunny with a high in the mid 40s, but we could see some rain showers on Thanksgiving.  Black Friday and the days following will also be very mild.  Through the weekend, we'll see partly sunny skies and highs in the mid 40s.

These forecasts are current as of November 19th, so there is always the chance these could change between now and the time you head for grandma's house.  Keep that in mind and be safe.
